How we helped:
We were appointed as independent examiners to the Sumatran Orangutan Society in 2018. In addition to preparing the charity’s annual accounts and carrying out an independent examination, we have added value by:
- Supporting this rapidly growing charity to develop more robust systems and controls
- Improving SORP compliance and presentation of statutory accounts
- Reviewing the accounting system, chart of accounts and class structure (QuickBooks Online), and improving monitoring of restricted funds
- Providing VAT advice on new fundraising ventures, including working with corporate sponsors
